02. Initial Assessment

Before beginning the installation process our team conduct a thorough assessment of your project site. We evaluate factor such as subfloor condition, moisture level, and layout consideration to ensure smooth installation process.

03. Floor Covering Removal & Disposal

Many floors sit on structural elements of the building and damaging these will create significant difficulties and substantially delay your project while adding to its cost. We provide commercial & domestic floor removal, including removing tiles, timber, vinyl and carpet floors and any floor covering that your home or business space has.

Once the old flooring materials have been removed, we will transport them to an appropriate disposal facility depending on the type of the material and local regulation.

We clean up properly once the job is complete and ensure proper disposal methods to prevent pollution and reduce waste send to landfills.

04. Subfloor Preparation:

We take necessary steps to prepare your space for timber flooring installation. This including acclimatisation the timber flooring materials, preparing the subfloor to ensure a clean and level surface and addressing any existing issues that may impact the installation process.

Grinding and levelling concrete floors before installing new floor is essential for ensuring a smooth, even and durable surface. Also, enhances the bonding of adhesives and flooring materials, preventing issues like lifting or bubbling

Requirements differ depending on whether products are adhesive fixed or floating and different flooring product manufacturers have different requirements. For adhesive and mechanically fixed floors a flatness where there is no more than a 3mm gap below a 1.5m straight edge resting on the slab is applicable. Where there is adhesive but no mechanical fixing, a flatness where there is no more than a 3mm gap below a 3.0m straight edge. For floating floors other than laminate no more than 3mm below a 1.0m straight edge and for laminate no more than 2mm below a 1.0m straight edge.

05.Installation Methods:

Our skilled installers are proficient in a variety of installation methods including nail-down, glue-down, and floating installation method. We carefully select the most appropriate technique based on your specific project requirement and preferences to achieve the best possible results.

A fixed floor has fixings such as nails or staples and/or adhesive to fix each floorboard individually to the subfloor (such as particleboard or a concrete slab). A floating floor has each board fixed to each adjacent board but no fixing of the floorboards to the subfloor. With floating floors, most products have an interlocking, glueless jointing system while some, with a tongue and groove profile, use adhesive placed in the board joints to hold boards one to another. Solid timber flooring, prefinished solid, parquetry and cork must be fixed to the subfloor, laminate flooring must be floated, while engineered and bamboo flooring can be either floated or fixed.

06.Stair tread installation:

We install solid or engineered timber treads match or compliment your flooring.

MAINTENANCE TIPS:

REGULAR CLEANING:

Sweep or vacuum your timber floors regularly to remove dust, dirt, and debris. Use a soft-bristled broom or a vacuum with a hardwood floor attachment to prevent scratching.

Avoid moisture:

Timber flooring is susceptible to damage from moisture, so avoid using excessive water when cleaning. Use a damp mop or cloth with a mild cleaning solution specifically designed for timber floors.

protect from furniture:

Place felt pads or furniture coasters under heavy furniture legs to prevent scratches and dents on the timber flooring. Avoid dragging furniture across the floor and lift it instead to move it.

protect from sunlight:

Direct sunlight can cause timber flooring to fade and discolour over time. Use curtains, blinds, or UV-blocking window film to protect your floors from prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Routine Maintenance:

Periodically inspect your timber floors for any signs of damage, such as scratches, dents, or water stains. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage and maintain the appearance of your floors.

Avoid Harsh chemicals:

Avoid using harsh cleaning products, abrasive cleaners, or wax-based polishes on timber floors, as they can damage the finish and dull the appearance of the wood. Stick to mild cleaning solutions recommended for timber flooring.

Follow Manufacturer's Recommendations:

Follow any specific maintenance guidelines provided by the manufacturer of your timber flooring to ensure proper care and maintenance for your particular type of flooring.

With a reputation built on detail, trust and consistency we go beyond installation to create truly exceptional timber floors.
